  • How Much Over-spin on a V-1??

I'm am getting a billet T-trim impeller installed on my S-trim. Anyone have personal experience or advice on how far they've spun their V1 S past the 50k advertised by Vortech?

I personally think anything beyond 50,000 RPM and that DSS engine will come apart.

It already did haha. How much was the upgrade for the impeller?

Forgot to add that a short stroke Dart 347 is being installed along with the impeller lol. Superchargerrebuild.com mills the volute and installs their billet impeller for $630.

no personal experience but I have read many times of people spinning their V-1's in the 55,000-60,000 range

Yea, I've read a lot of people spinning around 55k. I just want to be able to make 20psi with this S/T-trim hybrid.

I could be wrong but I think the s-trim came with a cast impeller..With a billet you should be able to go into the 55-60,000 safely

Not sure if you will see 20psi on a free breathing 347 though

I know someone that pushed their S Trim to 55K with the stock impeller shaft. The blower did fine and they had reduced parastatic drag by doing other things.

Do you have an 8 Rib Kit for your car?

What will 20psi do? I'm not sure I understand your question.

                          That is exactly my point.

If you make 20 psi, then what?

What if it makes 27psi? It's telling you that your motor is a huge restriction. If it makes 18psi, it's telling you it's processing a lot of air on it's own.

Pick a power level, pulley accordingly - disregard the 'boost' as a 'goal'. Use it for a tuning tool that tells you what your belt is slipping, a hose leaking etc.

Can I go for a ride? That's my only question.

Yes, I understand this but without having to go into drawn out explanation like that, its easier to say..... I was making 13psi before and would be happy making 18-20 on the exact same top end. Plus the T is gonna move more volume with less heat soak(cooler boost) compared to the S attempting to make more power with its smaller impeller.
