  • Need help choosing a truck

So I am looking at a few trucks and have it narrowed down to 3, but I have only owned a ford. So out of the following 3 which would you pick, and why?

2004 Chevrolet 2500hd, extened cab, 4x4, diesel, 105k miles, a few dings and scratches, decent interior with no rips, $12k

2004 Dodge 2500, quad cab, 2wd, diesel, 83k miles, hardly any dents or dings, good interior with no rips, $15k

2002 Ford F-250, quad cab, 4x4, lariat, v10 (gas guzzler!), 56k miles, no dents or dings, perfect interior, $15k

the chevy will need injectors, the ford would guzzle gas with just a v8, and the dodge will fall apart all around the engine

Well i know the dodges have a bad rep about everything but the motor, and the chevys i no nothing about, and while the ford will drink the gas it is by far the nicest of the three, and gas is cheaper than diesel so the operating cost should be about the same; i would think.

if your gonna be towing. not even close.

injectors dont fix the issue with the chevy, but of those 3 it would be my choice. no 4x4 kills the dodge for me

I don't do much towing, but maybe a few times a year. I just like the diesels for the longevity. And i know what you mean about the 4wd, I'd like to have it myself.

They also have a 04 f250 diesel 4x4 that is lifted with 107k on it for 16k that i might look at, but the lift is pretty big and it worries me that it's got so much done to it. Plus i used to have a cc f250 6.0 4x4, and I loved it, but they have some issues with the motor as well. Like the egr cooler which is a PITA to fix.

Na. Sorry. If I was going the f-150 route it'd be a 99-04 harley, lightning, or a newer 3v 5.4. I had a 03 fx4 5.4 and it seemed lacking in the power dept. when towing with 33's.

I'd also consider a first gen lightning, if i could find someone who would do a stratight trade for my 00 gt.
