after spinning badly at the cruise i want to go ahead and get some some track wheels, i currently have 94-95 rear axles in my fox so with that said what wheels and tire size could i go with without rubbing the fender and tearing up the tires? TIA

Without knowing your offset of your wheels, put 8" wide slicks on the back. However with a Manual car, you will want to upgrade the rear axles or you may bend or snap one.

Honestly if you are concerned about spinning the tires, it's time to upgrade your suspension.

7.5 inch backspacing on the wheels will do the trick

28x9 will take you a long way. Call brian at lonestar. He knows everything about fox cars. He can tell you what tire and wheel will work for your car.

                    My .02c
                    Depends on many variables:
                    Power-gear ratio, suspension, Drivetrain.
                    If you have a T5 I would start with a 26" tire.
I used to run a 27" with a T5 and 125 shot would run into clutch slippage issues.
