I just got done doing a 5 speed swap into my 65 Mustang. I immediately noticed a good deal of vibrations at 2k rpm and above. I feel them whether I am in neutral sitting still or driving. Having the clutch in or out does not matter either.
Father in law seems to think it is the new polyurethane transmission mount. So tomorrow I will be swapping it out for a rubber one to see if it helps. I have never ran a poly mount before.
If that does not help I guess I will be tearing it all back down and having the new 28 oz fly wheel balanced to the old 28 oz flywheel. I probably should have done this in the first place but after talking to several people and two different engine machine shops we concluded that there was no reason to do it because neither flywheel had material added or removed to change the balance.
Thoughts?
