Are you running an underdrive crank pulley or stock? I would pulley down a little and look at doing a set of cams. That with a good tune should net you 500.

OP, boost is a reference number. Pick a power level and see what it'll take to get there.
      x2

A restrictive intake/head combo will result in higher boost numbers because of the restriction, better flowing intake/heads will result in lower boost numbers because of less restriction.

Ahhh, reading owns me. To my defense, the OP's question looks like it was written by a 4 year old and I couldn't be bothered to read it all.

E85, cog it and throw 25lbs of boost at it then.

also was told that heads and cams could hurt the power not gain it
I suppose that a horrible port job or the wrong cam could hurt, but if done right, the heads and cam are what control air flow, and a motor is nothing more than a big air pump.

For reference, my forged '98 made that 462 rwhp because of the FRPP heads, port-matched intake, and blower cams. This was at just over 9psi, and I was out of fuel per the tuner, or it would have made more.

This was with a 255lph in tank, and a 255lph pusher pump with 42lb injectors. The same fuel system has made 500rwhp+ on similar 4.6's, which lends credence to the fact that he didn't know wth he was doing.

I'm going to quote this one more time. Forged internals doesn't mean a forged crank. Be prepared for a stock crank to let go if you get close to 500 RWHP. For your original question, I'd go heads and cam, but I'll warn you again. The next bottleneck will be the blower capacity and the intake. You're at a point where you can drive it safely and have fun. Pushing it up and doing it correctly is going to end up being expensive if you do a blower upgrade, intake, and heads/cam. Have fun...

just curious why you trying to gain 70hp? do you just want to hit that 500hp mark or something?

do u take it to the track or anything? or just trying to be a dyno queen? Just curious

and stock crank can make over 600hp its the rods that are weak, and if the bottom is forged , add cams/springs and more boost and have fun . good cams and 10psi should net you around your 500whp goal
