Just swapped the 82 to a manual. It sounds like its low on fluid so im gunna dump the fluid and refill it. It's an older close ratio T5 and wanting recommendations on what to put in her. Mercon ATF? Dex/con ATF? Isn't ATF too light for synchros? I was thinking some 90w gear oil or royal purple's synchromax 90w oil. 3 qt's and I'm done.

Oh ok sorry. I have some mercon at home, 3 qt. The tranny is kinda noisy with whining. No shifting issues at all. Just noisy. Some fluid did dump when we installed it through the tail shaft seal. I figured some synchromax or gear oil woul be good for it with a thicker base.

Our tranny guy told us to use any type of synthetic trans fluid in our 5 spds we have in the race cars, except Royal Purple."If I asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses." - Henry Ford

LOL I've never had a T5 last long enough to know what the fuck to put in it."When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin
