  • Need some advice on how to make my foxbody handle better

I already replaced the rear control arms on my car and it seemed to help tremendously. Old ones were completely wore out. Looking into maybe buying this combo.

I'm looking to make my ,mild 5.0 with few bolt ons, 90 mustang a better street car. I want a little stiffer ride, less bounce, better handling, street only car. I don't care about straight line stuff necessarily. No drag use. I just want the car planted firmly for a little spirited driving around some corners and to be able to take it down some bumpy back roads without it bouncing all over the place.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

For improved handling without getting into a lot of mods I had H&R's and Bilsteins on a couple of my old Foxes and they handled decently and still had good ride quality. If you want to go beyond that, the sky's the limit as far as what you can get and what you'll spend, just do your homework ahead of time.

Did you add subframe connectors to any of them? If so did it help? Looks like the stock stuff is still on my car. No telling how many miles. Do you think the springs should be replaced as well.

I put a bolt in 6 point street type roll bar in a 93 Coupe, and you can't believe the difference it made in handling and even took out a lot of the squeaks and rattles. Yes, it gives a stiffer ride, but handles like a go cart.

I've heard some pretty shitty things about the KYB Gas-A-Just's... I'm sure others will be chiming in on it!

Not too sure on the gas-a-just shocks, but I had the KYB AGX shocks/struts on my 96 and loved them!

Yes, subframe connectors is the first thing I always do to my Mustangs. Let's face it, the platform is based on an old Fairmont and the unibody is like a wet noodle. With it flexing the suspension can't do it's job properly. I'd definitely do springs. For stock replacement style I like the H&Rs.
Not sure how much you're looking to spend but a panhard bar can also help to plant the rear end in corners and make it more predictable when it breaks loose.

He did some work on my Mustang. He is very knowledgeable, has very reasonable prices for labor, and is a stand up guy. He kept me informed the whole time and will let you know first if the cost is going to go up due to issues he finds.

Less body roll and decreased chance of oversteer.

I recently bought that kit for my 93. Needed something cheap to replace the original 20 y/o shocks and struts. I've owned several cars with Bilsteins/Konis and H&Rs and loved them, but didn't have the budget for that on this project.

My car is just a street cruiser and I'm pretty happy with this, given the price. The springs don't sit level front-to-back so it looks like I may need to remove isolators or trim the rear coils to level the car. Ride is pretty good - no real complaints.
