I know, I've posted about this before. I've tried fucking everything it seems to no avail. I've upgraded to a giant dual pass radiator, added 3.8 taurus fan on high speed full time, opened up the lx front bumper, removed bumper crash bar, built a radiator box, sealed the radiator/condenser/intercooler together to promote airflow through them, built a turbo heat shield, run straight water (with 2 bottle of wetter), cleaned the a/c condenser fins, etc.
Still can't run the a/c on a hot day with out the temps slowly (but surely) creeping up to 230* where I cut it off. It will then go down to around 210-215 and maintain. This is with a 196* thermo. Oil temps climb to 240 when the coolant temps get this hot.
I am at wits end. I have literally tried everything I can think of. Brooks might have said it best when he told me the problem is shoving 20lbs worth of shit into a 10lb box, but I have to imagine that it is possible to keep this combo cool. I am considering switching the 3.8 taurus fan out for a mkviii fan if it'll fit, but I doubt that an extra ~500cfm is going to make any measurable difference, especially since I am getting good airflow as it is (it will suck a piece of duct tape through the grill opening up against the condenser with the fan on for example).
Anything you guys can offer that I might not be considering would be appreciated. I'd like to keep a/c on this car and actually be able to enjoy it.
Here is an example of how much suction the fan has pulling through the condenser.
