state inspection ?

How many attempts are you allowed before you have to pay for another inspection? Is it up to the establishment or state?

I went and had an inspection done on my truck. It failed due to 2 monitors showing incomplete (evap purge and smog heater). I paid for it and it showed on the receipt If I brought it back by the 15th it would be no charge.I woke up the next morning and took it back up there. It was all good for about 5 minutes then my check engine light came on for the MAF. I bought a new MAF threw it on and took it back up there and they then told me that they only allow 1 free reinspection. The reason I ask is because my buddy did state inspections and said they would reinspect cars 10-15 times free of charge.

state says 1 free if the place like mine wants to do more for free they can but the state says they only have to do 1 free reinspection. we always check them before or if the light comes on during the inspection then we abort out of it.

It all depends on the shop, if I have cars that don't pass my boss doesn't charge. But if the shop mandatory charges the 40 if it passes or not then you get (1) free reinspection.
