    Lucky!

You also have a standard rotation w/p right?

I would need a different timing cover to convert over now?

Yep, my racer did too. I might not be worth it, they are all cast steel pumps.

Why do you want to mount it low? Just looks?

Yes mainly. I like the look of just seeing the heads and valve covers without all the big ass factory brackets blocking everything. Plus it'll save a few minute pounds and have a manual belt tensioner instead of a spring loaded.

Ill do this when I get the electric water pump when funds allow, should be soon. I have a power master alternator now. It looks like a stock alt but it could also be the 100amp, which would be nice.

With u/d pulleys at idle the volt meter is in a good spot and it doesn't drop when I turn the fans on.

Shoot I'll run stock until I get around to getting what I actually want.

I've been day dreaming of what it would take to get what wanted, I saw turbostang was starting to make his own stuff with his CNC machine, was going to see what he could do, but it maybe it's easier to go with this guy. Unless Brooks chimes in.

Think about it for a moment. If you want the belt to wrap around the water pump pulley (like it should) then you will have to have "something" mounted above it in order to route the belt. Hopefully this picture makes the point.

If you want everything "low" then you will need to convert to a standard-rotation water pump and go from there. Or just run an electric pump like in that photo.

Yeah I know how that works Danny, lol.

I've had a few different belt set ups in the past.

                    Short belt w/ a/c.
Short belt with no a/c and trick flow delete kit, moves belt tensioner to where the ac normally sits, had a ton of belt squeal.

So I put the belt on the back side of the tensioner and used a pry bar to get the tensioner in place in the bracket, and it just barely hits the w/p with my underdrives.

42 inch belt is what I have now.

My plan eventually at some time in the cars life is to hide all the wires, shaved fender aprons ect..I want to open the hood and see an engine and nothing else.

It didn't really sound like it to me.

I would look into using stock '60s Mustang parts then. Cheap, easy, and plentiful.

It's dirty but you get the idea.

To do old style standard rotation I would need to use an older style timing cover correct? And a v belt?
