Once I get everything in the engine bay all cleaned up, I'd like to relocate my alternator.
I don't have a/c, p/s or a smog pump.
I currently have the belt on the tensioner backwards and the back side of the belt just barely hits the w/p, which is fine I don't mind if it slips a little.
So, I want to ditch that ugly huge alternator bracket and tensioner to make It look better, the problem Im running into is I can't find what I'm looking for. I want to move the alternator towards the bottom, closer to the crank pulley where the smog pump used to be or near by. I find kits but they are made for v belt, standard rotation water pumps.
What if I were to use an electric water pump, then the only thing my belt would turn would be the alternator. Would one of the standard rotation kits work with that set up, by just bypassing the water pump all together and just run a serp belt from the crank to the alt on the lower passengers side?
This is what I'm shooting for: can't find squat on how to do it, parts wise.
Any ideas?
