  • Heater coil question

    ^^^ Core^^^

On my son's 93 GMC 1500, he is leaking coolent somewhere from the heater coil. Can we just take the hose that feeds it from the radiator off and plug the radiator? Or is there another hose that will have to be plugged as well. I have looked for a switch on the fire wall, but I dont see one. And the controllers do not work in the cab.

Replace the core so he will have a heater.

A quick fix is to put a shutoff valve in the line.

Take the 2 hoses off the heater core and connect them with a hose barb with some hose clamps.

On my old 95 there was like 10 screws to a cover on the underside of the dash and it only took 10 minutes tops to put a new core in.
