is it really worth keeping on or not? i somehow got alot of oil on mine and it smokes up the whole garage everytime i turn the car and the headers get hot, so would it be easier to try and clean them or just cut off the wrap and just leave the headers bald?

I would ditch the wrap. That stuff is evil to the header metal. I ruined a set of headers because I used wrap. Hopefully yours will be okay.

Wear gloves, long sleeves and eye protection or be prepared to itch for about a day!

If you sprayed down your headers with some high temp 2000deg paint, had em coated before or they are stainless, you should be fine. I had some on my turbo hot side, changed things up, it started to come off, I pulled it (itched for a freakin day and a half) and the high temp black paint still looked good and metal under it.

That shit is NO good for headers - There's a reason that ALL header manufacturers will void your warranty if you use wrap of any kind!

It super-accelerates the heat cycling and wear and tear!

The wrap is a sure death for your headers, lose the wrap if at all possible.

ok so let me just say that taking the wrap off the headers when they are installed is a major BITCH, but its done
