  • 1990 GT No Spark issue!!!!

I have a 1990 GT, new motor that has 1500 miles on it. I turned the corner the other day and it died, now I have no spark. I followed this troubleshooting post

All the testing pointed to the distributor being the issue.
When I turn the key on the fuel pump kicks on, the car turns over with ease, I have pressure to the rails, I replaced the original coil and TFI, along with the distributor. I am at my wits end!! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When you say replaced, are you talking new, or used? If new, I am with SEB, check your grounds.

I checked the ground wires coming off the driver side head and the two on the timing cover .....nothing out of the ordinary with them. I did unhook my battery over night to try and get rid of the check engine light but the light does not turn off when I try to start it.......

where did you get the TFI? I have had ignition modules be bad straight out of the box. I have them tested in front of me at the parts store multiple times before I buy. Had one that drove me nuts. I brought it back and they tested it and it passed. I was like "do it again"

on the third time once it heated up, it failed.

I would have gone there too, but a new dizzy should have a new pickup coil.

I stabbed a new MSD in and it had a bad pick up coil in it.
