    Changing the master cylinder.

Brakes are almost non-existent until the pedal is all the way down.

Anyways, I was taking off the old one and unbolted the brake lines from the 2 ports. Absolutely NO fluid came out. Is that normal? I have never changed a master cylinder before. The reservoir is full.

If you left the cap on it there shouldn't be much, if any fluid loss. The cap is vacuum sealed. You should have lost a little from what was in the line going into the fitting but not much.

Make sure you bench bleed that master cylinder or you'll be bleeding brakes for a long time!

Don't remember if I had the cap on or off. It has slowly started to drip out while I was taking off the mounting nuts to the booster. Looks like I stripped one of the bastards too. Shit.

It took all I had to get them off. Hit them with wd40 more than a couple times. Finally got it off.

I am pretty sure this has never been replaced.
