If you get past all my bells and whistles it really is a simple set up. 4.125 dart block, AFR185 heads, FTI Ed Curtis cam, lightened valvetrain, BG turbo kit and a 76mm turbo, E85, 120# injectors, big ass fuel pump and the AEM ECU.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

That car was so sick man, and it sound like it's going to be even better. I remember drooling over that car before I even had a mustang and was just hanging around in my old school BMW, lol. I kind of hate to hear that you hacked (although I'm sure it'll be clean as hell) up that clean 86. But to each their own. Just be sure to post pics, lol.

And lol at you calling a fox heavy. But I know what you mean with the convertible and all. I'm sure whatever you guys do will be nice. Keep us posted.
To answer your responses. My hood was cut because I have a super victor high rise intake on a 9.5 block. A vic jr intake which is more than plenty in all honesty for a street car (espicially one with boost) would have cleared a small cowl with no holes...

I didn't want a cage, but the car was literally twisting itself apart with the 750rw I had... I plan to make literally double that when the glide is in the car, so I didn't want the car twisted up like a pretzel more than having a cage. I tried to do it up nice. James B built a beautiful cage and I had it paited same color as outside in a 3 stage process. The cage looks better than the outside paint. Lol. Also removed the visors and map light with an all new headliner and new floor carpet cleaned it up nice.

The convertible in question has heavy power recaro race seats with heat and nut fans, as well as a large stereo. The custom door panels alone weigh about 40 lbs a piece. It also has 3 amps and a 12 W7 which with box weighs about 95 lbs. I have not weighed it completed, but if it was under 3900 lbs with me in the car I'd be very surprised. It weighed 3480 without me with the back seats out, trunk a metal shell and no door panels... (Before stereo was installed). That was with the stock block and lighter S trim, but the AL block prob dropped 50-60 lbs but gained 10-20 back with ysi blower. I would take bets its over 3800 for sure with me in the car, and for any car imo that's pretty heavy.

Has similar setup now. If I can afford to buy it as is, I will leave it mainly alone, maybe change crank and cam or heads etc. But if I buy as a roller I don't want any power adders.

Since the engine is bolted to the K and so is everything else, the change comes in that the body of the car is higher. None of those things will change. But dont let me stop you, Im sure that reving it to the moon on the street will be much more fun to drive.

I clearly have no idea wtf you are talking about, but let me say that the car has a Griggs suspension, and the motor height and placement back towards the firewall for weight transfer is not going to get screwed with. Also the car is very low, and it's not getting raised up.

IF I put a 9.5 in it, it will get a cowl hood. I simply said my dad did not do a larger cid when he built his current motor because he didn't want a cowl hood, which imo was a lame excuse.

Like I said, I'm sure it's not a hack job man and I'm sure that it'll look nice. I guess that the whp that you had would have been putting the chassis through the wringer and stiffening it with a cage was about your only choice. Or less power, and just from seeing your cars... that's not an option, lol.

And, DAYUM that's a heavy ass fox.

CHI out of Australia makes some really good heads, some designed with Jon Kaase for the engine masters shit. A Yates head is basically a cleveland head slightly updated (back in the early 80s) for Nascar and I'm not very up to date as to whats the best and most current Yates version. I know that CHI headed motors have won a lot of EMC competitions and recently a Edlebrock/Gliddon SV something (i.e. a Yates style head, I'm too lazy to do the research right now as to which) won recently in the no holds barred EMC competition.

Both will need a specific manifold but those can be sourced easily from the head manufacturer. The CHI heads will need an external coolant crossover but they plump their heads for that for free (last time I checked). I think some Yates style head come cast for a Windsor block with its coolant crossover.

You'll have to pay for either setup but thats your best bet for a max effort deal.

The AFR and TFS mentioned are quality parts but they still try to operate in the (more or less) confines of a factory intake/exhaust set up which on a Windsor leaves a lot to be desired.
