The rust isn't going to hurt anything. As long as the rings didn't break from running over the rust, it'll run. The rust on the heads isn't going to hurt as long as it's not on any of the mating surfaces.

If it's not cracked, run it.

really? lol im sure itll have great oil control. nevermind the pitting that is probably there you cant see in the pic. The last one I did wasnt even that bad and a chunk of the bore flaked out while cleaning leaving about a 1/16" deep pit. Also, you see that two cylinders showed signs of water, but #5 was holding it...id almost put money its cracked on #5. You can probably see it if you clean the head, but not necessarily. These things dont have to get that hot to crack.

It had a blown gasket before and was replaced I'm thinking that #6 was from that. It was dry and the gasket look good for that cylinder.

I cleaned the head up, the only damage other then pitting from rust is a little bit almost looks like a crack between the valves. I had ATF soaking in the CC for about an hour and none leaked through anywhere. not that that means anything.

I'll take it to a machine shop and see what they say.. I'm planning on buying another one but I'm crossing my fingers.

I just need this thing to run long enough to get my coupe apart and back together. I'd like to get it running smoothly long enough to feel like it's a sound car and try and trade for a civic with a blown engine, because I have a Honda engine!

I would turn the motor until the piston is at the bottom of the stroke and run a bore brush down in there. I wouldnt let the rings run over that crap!

The prices they want for them are retarded.

I'm with Greenbullet, NO WAY IN H*LL would I waste money on that motor. That motor is trash unless you bore it and put at least a new piston in that cyl. I pulled a customers motor that had a cyl that was obviously like that before and it ran like there was a HUGE hole in the piston. I took the breather off and had puffs of oil coming out every time the cyl fired.

Didn't knock when I parked it. But I can see why it would.

As far as the cylinder having excessive blow by, it wasnt smoking when I parked it either and the air filter in clean so no oil was blowing into the air box.

Have a shop checking the head for $20. If it's good, I'll through it together and see what happens..

Any local junk yard recomendations for one of theese engines? I find it hard to spend more then 200$ on one.

If the head is cracked I found another engine for $300.

I'd really take the time to put new bearings in it at the least.
