  • Needing a cat converter for 91 explorer.

Got this explorer for free, I got the title and getting ready to fix the head gaskets but it has no exhaust system.

The previous owner cut the cat off in hopes of fixing the problem.. What a fucking idiot.

Anyways I can't use a universal cat because it's cut right off the manifold where the cat bolts on, and it's an oval shape.

From what Im told, junk yards can't sell them used, what if I tell them I need it for a lamp stand? Lol

Anyone have any hook ups? It's s 91 so It doesn't have to "work" but I don't want to cheat out the next owner when I sell this turd. I'm not into screwing people over.

    Help please!

They are $180 off of rock auto, but I'm trying to keep Cost as close to zero as possible. Thanks!

I think Rock Auto might be your best bet, its federal law that recycler's cant sell them used. They have to be recertified, and its cheaper to make them aftermarket.

Damn Feds, theyre always busting balls.

I guess $300 for a running explorer isn't too bad.

      Btw, still have those studs?

Just take it to a muffler shop and have them add one in. Is it RIGHT at the manifold or is there some room to remove pipe and hard weld it in?

It was cut right behind the flange.

          Sweet oval shape too.

Water in the oil and exhaust blowing out of the radiator cap, and he thought the cat was clogged causing it.

              Fucking tards In this world.

If I can fix this carrier if not then I'll have to stick with 28 spline for now.
