I put a shit ass ton of power through my 8.8 and never had a single issue. Completely stock 28spline. With his projected power I really don't see him breaking it. And if you do, buy a $200 explorer axle.

I've already got wasted money in this 31spine diff. Being put in this situation by a freind pisses me off. And I'm not the type to ask for my money back.

Live and learn is the best way to look at it, but that doesn't make me feel any better.
Just get 31 spline spider gear kit from summit only $115 an it will be like a new carrier. u paid me 70 bucks for the carrier man thats cheap brand new carrier is almost 500. Any used carrier isn't gonna be perfect shape. Better than 500.

agreed, truetrac would be a nice compliment to the axles

Well heck I ll take those other gears just to fix this one so I can sell it In good condition unlike others.

Sorry if I seem flustered.. Really makes me wonder when you get screwed by a freind since highschool.

It's my fault but lying about it doesn't make it right.

Did you look at it when you purchased it? I agree tho, it's not fine, a good seller would buy it back.

If you really wanna know what you need, how much tq you going to make on the juice, what tranny, and what rear ratio?
A 800ftlb car with a glide and 3.08's will not hit the axles as hard as a 500ftlb car with a 3.35 1st gear manual and 4.56's.

Like I said, why do 28 now and risk breaking one, just do 31 and be done with it, time is money. You can prob find a "good" used 31 spline ford carrier for $100-$150.

3 inch studs fit with ponies. I ran mine for years that way. The center caps fit fine.

I did look at them I just looked to see if it was 31 spline ad left the rest to 8 years of friendship. Oh well. Better luck next time.

The 28 w/ c clip eliminators look good. I'll prolly hold off on 31 until I have a decent diff to match some good axles.

31 spline is the way to go if your going to do it. It was the first mod i did to my car.

But mine seen aloooot of slick launches and racing.

The most cost saving thing for you to do is just rebuild your 28 spline trac loc i have seen them go 6.30s with the Kevlar clutch pack. im going 6.80s on mine on stock 28s and plan on going a lot faster before replacing it. Mine has not went 1-tire fryer on me ever with the Kevlar's! Take these spider gears put them in your carrier resell it and get money for your motor or keep it whatever your jumping to far ahead to make progress. save your money for the motor imho!~
