mosier 28's should be plenty I would think. i've seen some stock 98 gt axles take some hella abuse, did eventually blow a set of spiders and 2 axles with a drag launch kit, 150 dry shot, 4.30's, and bfg drag radials back in the day. Launches just shy of the rev limiter a lot of times. I wouldn't recommend this though.

My thinking makes me think my Carrier with some decent axles should be okay for what I'm doing, I don't ever launch my car at the limiter or anything like that, I've Always had best results with ~4000 rpm or so anyways.
This really sucks because I had it all planned out just to run into this fucking problem. Its my fault though.

That is something i been waiting to break before i messed with it. I rebuilt my Trac loc with the Kevlar clutch kit and still have the stock 28 spline axles in my blue car. I have the Nitrous on a micro switch for this reason because there is a slight delay over just mashing the button and flashing the converter and i am still running 1.4 60's. Just put the Kevlar kit in it and get some after market 28 splines if your that worried about it you will be fine.Last edited by fordracer2; 06-04-2012, 04:28 PM.sigpic

Aggie97 and I had this conversation a while back, and for what it's worth, he runs a 31 spline Eaton in his race car. I'd say it's taken some abuse, to say the least. Where'd you get the broken one? Can you not rebuild it?ZOMBIE REAGAN FOR PRESIDENT 2016!!! heh

The reason I would go 31 is to reduce the chance of breaking an axle and putting the car into the wall, it will end up being much more expensive then.Interested in being a VIP member and donating to the site? Click here http://dfwmustangs.net/forums/payments.php

Just buy a diff rebuild kit and set of Moser 28 spline and be done. I broke the stock axles in my sn95 3 months after buying the car. Had a bone stock motor with manual trans, slicks and 3.73 gears. Hell even a set of superior axles will be fine. Be sure to add an xtra clutch to the pack to help tighten it up and you will be set!
