    My 93 Coupe is Detonating something serious in this heat. Its almost like the Exhaust has a different sound. It pingy really bad down low. Just doesnt feel like it has much get up & go for a 5.0, It like it has a low hum crusing at past 2000rpms.

    You have already looked over timing and fuel pressure, maf etc....?

      Probably running hot.I would drain and flush the coolant system. Also install a new thermostat and radiator cap.

        Yes the Gauge ran up past the halfway mark!

        But I wasnt driving it that long. What the best way to get it to run cooler. Im gonna check the timing here later tonight once it cools down.

        All I know is it feels slugish & doesnt pull very hard past 3500 rpms. Just feels like something is holding it back.

        I have a Alum DS im gonna put on it to help smooth it out in the upper RPMS. But right now it feels like a Snail

          Took the 93 GT out & went through the gears & it revs clean all the way to 6000 rpms

          The 93 Coupe just feels rough reving past 3000 rpms

            OK went & set the timing. Timing was at 0 degrees with the Spout connecter off & when I put it back on it jumped up over 10 degrees in. Do I need to set Base Timing at 10 degrees with Spout connecter out? Which puts it over 20 degrees with it in.

            Also pulled the BBK Cold Air Intake off & put the stock Rubber Elbow back on. I did notice alot of oil built up on the firewall side of my TB when I pulled the Fender Well kit off.

            Also which is a better Cold Air

            March Ram Air Intake System with stock Rubber Elbow
            Anderson Power Pipe with Conical Filter
            Stock Rubber Elbow with Conical Filter

            Keep in mind car is a Speed Density car

              The harmonic balancer could have spun making it read wrong. The same thing was happend to my nephew's 90 GT.

                Pull off the cap and rotate the engine to tdc and look at the rotor. If its truely at 0 degrees then the rotor will be pointing directly at #1.. If yes then put the cap back on, pull the spout and set to 12 degrees. If detonation still persists then pull the ECM and look for a chip. If you find one then disconnect the battery and remove it. Nothing wrong with a cai. Just leave it be. Install a 192 thermostat, make sure the fan clutch is working. Report back.

                  You also need a fan shroud for that car if it is still missing. I got one am thinking about selling.

                    Yea you should be atleast 10* with spout out. Rotate the dizzy clockwise to advance. Anywhere from 20 to 24* with spout connected

                      Found my problem!!!

                      Center Bolt holding my Holley Intake to the lower was snapped clean! Hope its not snapped clean in the lower intake

                          Yeah I babied it back home from the car show!

                          Doug I actually have a Fan Shroud im gonna put on it & have a 140amp PA Alt going on to help boost the Fan power to keep her cool!

                              Cool. I just remember an engine shot of one of your cars that was missing the shroud. I saw the fan just hanging out in the open thinking, that's not gonna work very well. Lol.
