  • 2005 Ford Explorer EGR Valve

SES light is on and the code comes back as P0401. This model has the sensor built into the EGR. I found the valve but am not sure how to go about taking the tube off and then getting everything lined back up. Anybody done one of these? Any ideas?

When going back, just start everything first.

Do I have to remove the tube from the exhaust manifold as well, or just from the EGR valve?

Might be easier if its loose, if i recall its not that bad to reach thru the wheelwell, squirt it down with some penetrating oil tho.
