forged piston factory 302's?

I never worried about this before as i was able to source 86-92 mustang motors.

Now that i live in the sticks i cant find shit. Did any other factory 302 cars come with forged pistons?

Just looking to re ring and bearing a shortblock. I've gotta have a forged piston motor.

There's a freshened-up block (machined) with rods, forged factory pistons, and some other goodies for sale here on the board for $350. Hell, I'm thinking about buying it and I don't even need it.

I found a complete 91 thunderbird motor for 200 here intake to pan. INcluding access.

All i want todo is re ring and bearing the thing with some arp hardware. Im not even changing the cam. Itll make anuf power with the turbo to blow up any stock block.

Did the 'birds have forged pistons?

The 5.0's did not have forged pistons, they are cast aluminum hyperutectic. They are durable though, I know plenty of people that were shooting 150hp shots of N20 with no problems, the cranks and rods were the weak link(s).
The 3.8 SC T-birds did have FORGED pistons as did the Turbo Coupes, not 100% positive on the latter though.

Thats why im asking. Everyone on the net says its mixed. They are basically a 94-95 5.0 ho from what ive gathered.

Yeah you have to be careful about the internet tools.

Only the supercharges/turbo applications have forged pistons. 89-94 T-Bird SC, 99-04 Lightnings. The 03-04 Cobras had a forged internals with iron blocks. 07-10 GT500 forged internals with iron blocks. As did the FordGT but with an aluminum block.

The only motors im not sure about was the 93 Cobra, 94-95 Cobra (5.0's) and 93-95 Lightnings, but I believe they had cast Hypers too.

Looks like ill wait for a 5.0ho from a stang to pop up with the forged trw's. Hell i dunno i might just buy it and blow it up.

85-92 had forged pistons, 93-95 had hyperutectic.

Sspstang. Im well aware of the mustang ho. Just not other makes with the same motor.
