  • Best place to get a torque converter CORE ?

I'm looking for a torque converter core for a 4L60E. Doing an LS swap and need a converter core so I can get a new one.

I posted an ad here in the classifieds and on Craigslist. Any ideas on another place to look ?

Anyone here have a core that I can buy ?

Does it have to be for a 4L60-E? I should have a couple of converters in my junk pile, but none are from a 4L60-E. I used to have one, but I am pretty sure I scrapped it. I can go check.

      Yeah, it's gotta be for a 4L60E since that's what I'm buying.

        Bishop core in Dallas

where all the rebuilders buy cores cheap

Bishop International, Inc., founded by Jimmy Bishop in 1948, has become one of the world's largest independent distributors of quality of new and remanufactured automotive components.

Paul, I'm planning on buying a converter from an inline 6 cylinder Trailblazer. They are supposed to stall around 2800 behind a 6.0 liter, from what I've read. Looks like it's a pretty common converter swap, according to what I've found on LS1Tech, and some other searching I've done. Just need a core to trade in on the T-blazer unit.

Hit a wrecking yard or two. Jefferson, Mansfield Hwy surely one of those places has one cheap.

                -pardon the hijack-
If I were you (and I realize it's a common swap with the LS1 guys), I'd talk to Mike McGee (Mikes Trickshift) about what you're up to and get his input and a price.
There is a LOT more to it than just stall speed.

I'm running a trailblazer converter. It was 150.00 without the core rebuilt.
