  • Plumbing aux fuel pump

Thinking about rather then using the speed controller with my Eliminator pump plumbing in a Walbro 255 to run the car then using the Eliminator as an aux pump when under boost (and possibly ditching the eliminator at some point for a 044 bosch as aux pump).

My question is how do you plumb it? I'd imagine you'd Y in after the elminator, but the problem I see with this is wouldn't the pressure go back through the aux pump when it is off and send the fuel back into the cell vs. pressurizing the rail?

an inline 255 would most likely have a check valve in the outlet end of the pump. They can fail which could possibly result in a pressure bleed. If you are going to have the 255 running all the time then I wouldn't think it to be a problem.

you are correct, the walboro would be running all the time and also has an internal check valve. the problem is the eliminator doesn't have one.

i guess for ~$50 summit has a -12 check valve that i could plumb in otherwise it'd just pressurize the tank through the eliminator when it isn't on.

my other concern is how long it'd take the eliminator to get primed up and pushing fuel.

youre over complicating James! sell your pump and get a different one on it

No fuckin way, there has to be an obscenely complicated option that is more likely to cause other complications available. We just all need to put out heads together and think.

Sell the pump, controller and do two 044's in parallel. You're adding weight and over complicating things. My first turbo fox had an gss342 and I added another in series. It ended up starving the other pump. I would only ever do dual or triple pumps in parallel.

Buy ONE new quality pump(Magnafuel or Weldon) or make the controller you have work or replace it too.

ya, just sucks buying a new pump when this one isn't bad. i'm going to try a few tricks before i do anything major and see if i can't get the fuel temp down without changing pumps and/or adding controllers.

what if the current pump is worn causing you to overheat the fuel? maybe the pump isnt good and your wasting time and money? find a donor pump, at LEAST!

James, Paul is only telling you that because he's been there before.

I've put a new pump in the queue, but in the mean time it won't hurt to relocate one of the fuel lines and clean the filters, etc.
