  • It is time for a new shifter.

I absolutely hate the hurst in my car. Its sloppy. I am in need another shifter. I have come down to 3 shifters, MGW, Pro 5.0, and Steeda. I have had Pro 5.0 which I tend to lean towards, and a steeda which is fairly good. I am really intrigued with this MGW shifter. Is any one running it? How do you like it? The car is a 93 5.0 with a tremec 3550.

I have the MGW in my cobra and I love it. I know we do not have the same cars, but I would strongly recommend the MGW.

The design seems so clean, and really more advanced then the other 2. How is hitting 3rd?

Hitting third is pretty easy, I just like how it doesn't have that notchy feeling.

The design is unlike anything I have seen, I did some searching on canada it seemed like a good up and comer.

Had a pro50 in my 97 with a t45 and really liked it. My 98 had a steeda with the TKO500 and I always thought the centering springs were too stiff. If I was concentrating and went to slam 3rd I'd stick it between 3rd and 5th. Was like hitting a brick wall.

I had the MGW in my 04 Gt for like 5 years and loved the shit out of it. I have never heard a bad thing about them.

I've always run pro 5.0's, I like the feel but I would like to try an MGW.

90% of my cars have had pro 5.0s I have had 2 steedas, and heard good stuff, but I never had excellent luck, but more then likely it was not adjust properly. The MGW, has me thinking, because I looked in canada, and yall were all talking well about it. I think, I am gonna give mgw a try, I can always keep my hurts just in case, but I have a feeling I am gonna like it.

Hurst's have a lifetime warranty, ship it to them & they will overhaul it free. I found a Hurst T5 shifter in the junkyard, it was badly worn. I shipped it to them & 2 weeks later it came back completely overhauled. I sold it on eBay.
