  • Clutch fork/cable issue.

For the past month ive been fighting this problem.

Harsh shifts from 1-2-3. 5th grinds. All when driving normal.

If I press the clutch pedal down to the floor and have it in 1st, at higher rpm it pulls forward. The clutch is a centerforce DF.

The cable is good, I have tightened it up several times and it will be good for a few days then act up again.

    Bent clutch fork?

Mike, did you tell the mean clerk at the Denton Municipal that your car has Harsh shifts from 1-2-3. 5th grinds. All when driving normal.

Maybe she would have understood why you didn't pay on time.

Possibly bent fork. Short or long tubes? My longtubes would heat my cable and cause it to stretch.

You seem to have a lot of issues with your car. I think you beat on it a bit too much, then act surprised when something goes wrong. Maybe take some time to really go through the weak spots of your car. It's mostly stock after all, and sometimes things just break, especially when we run them hard. Not trying to be shitty or judgemental...just speaking from experience.

                  I understand you 100%.

I drive 150 miles a day. And about a hour each day in traffic. The traffic I believe is what killed the clutch fork. Keep it in 1st and in and out of the clutch. From cabelas all the way to i20.

I beat on a few times a day, not going to lie.

It feels like metal, but it's black.

I THINK I have another somewhere. If I do I'll swap it out.

Never done it before, doesn't look hard.

stock should be a two piece white plastic unit(was on my 90). it's not to bad of a job, but it is tight working space being up under the dash.

then it should be ok then. Does it have a fire wall adjuster? or just an adjustable cable end at the fork?
