    A) Modify the trans cross-member

    B) Buy an aftermarket one.

PS. Will also need a custom drive-shaft made as well. Should hit up LStech and snoop around the Conversion / Hybrid section. TONS of info....

Will mainly be a street car with little track passes. I don't know anything about LS1's. Just wondering if this is the way to go. Any input would be Great!!!

          Thanks!!!!
For the money its hard to beat the LS platform. Take an LY6 6.0L and put a cam in it and you can make 500 hp with a stock shortblock and untouched heads and the average power will be much higher then when using a 302 based Ford.
This is comming from a Ford guy that was working on one of the fastes SBFs in the country 20 plus years ago when most of these guys were still riding their Huffys.
Its no doubt that the SBF can make power but it takes an aftermarket block and heads to do it. Over the years I have been there and done that and spent all the money and thats why now my Mustang is getting a junkyard LS motor so I can go have fun without spending big money.
To each their own I guess.

I might be picking up a complete LY6 6.0L with wire harness & computer on Friday. Plans include a cam swap & a turbo set-up. Not sure on the transmission that I plan on going with but it has to be something with over drive.
