    2. 347 or 408 with that kind of power is pretty hot for a daily.
    Seems fairly slim on excuses to keep a 302/351

    2. Ls1-2-3 has been around long enough and has proven to make power and is fairly affordable.(new 5.0 is making power, but cost a shit ton of money to modify)
    3. Parts are readily available for a good price.(5.0 nothing aftermarket,everyone is selling their busted parts if anything)
    4. Simplicity of tuning and electrical,only 1 cam to buy/worry about,no cam actuators to go bad.
    5. Etc etc

      Because I am bored with the power and want more then the factory block will support. A nice dart shortblock will cost me 4-5k where i can sell all my stuff and come out of pocket about 2-3k on a coyote swap and be different. I have seen a ton of stroker procharged sn cars but no procharged 700 rwhp coyote sn cars. I like to be different.

      My current setup drives great! Yes it would buck slightly below 1800 but was never tuned which would have helped tremendiously! Also with 3.73 gears it rarely got below 2100 as 90% of the driving I did with it was highway to go to work. It would average 17-18 mpg and was a blast to drive. the one time it went to the track ran a 7.9 at 95 mph with a 2.1 short time on road race suspension.

      I'm a little bias as personally I think inter breeding brands is stupid and never gets my attention except to think to myself how that guy took the easy route and copied someone elses combo to make power rather then actually think about building their own combo and being proud of it.

          Personally I dont look at my car as if it was a dog or a child,so inter breeding is not a concern of mine.
          Copy cat? What is a Coyote swap? Regardless of what car it is,it's a copy this day and time,especially if you have my money....

                  if the name of the game is "what platform has the most bang for the buck?" (i.e. great stock engine managment, great bottom end, great stock cylinder heads, etc.) then the lsx beats the shit out of the sbf. unless you want to to step up to a windsor and build the short block with good parts then throw on some good heads/cam etc. or buy an aftermarket block + all that stuff + a fast or bs3.

                  i went 7.0 @ 100 with a truck motor and cam.

                    I went with your second thought, twice. 4 bolt aftermarket windsor strokers with Fasts, and h/c/i.

                    Ls1s are cheaper, but I don't give a fuck about that. I wanted a ls1 so I bought a C5.

                      Stock for stock, yes but you are comparing old technology to new. that's like saying that a coyote motor is better then an old school sbc. Put a set of heads that flow 280+ cfm heads and a decent cam on a Windsor and it too will run that time in a gutted fox.

                      I don't care to argue, that is my opinion along with 90% of the people that I know. When I see a mustang with an ls motor i turn and walk away and any car for that matter. A sbf can be built to make the same power an ls motor if you know what you are doing. will the ls get better mileage and have slightly better driveability? Of course, its todays technology compared to 20 yr old technology. Put a bs3 on there with a good tune and the sbf will vastly improve.

                        sorry, not following the logic here, but to each his own, just keep one walking by if you see my pile at the cruise since i took the easy way out and just copied other people's combo?!?

                              so it is dumb to spend less money and have a faster, more streetable car? if i were poor which i am, an ls swap makes way more sense. i am not a brand loyalist, so i think its cool to see swap cars, to me its like the old guys who think power adders are the devil. hell hot rodding is all about doing shit like this.. lsx fox ftw. hell i would love to have a thunderbird supercoupe with a 2jz..
