Since we bought the C6 I've noticed it seems to run RICH when in power enrichment (i.e. getting on it). Since the car is stock and has cat's it would produce a smell from the cat's being flooded with all this extra fuel. Once I pulled the stock tune it became clear why it was doing this. The stock tune has it commanding ~11.2 AFR in the upper RPM regions.
I understand the warranty issues, but it would seem that a mixture this fat could do more harm then good as far as catalyst life, reduced plug life, reduced power, etc.
I now have it ~12.5 AFR in PE and it feels a lot stronger, the smell is gone, no knock, etc.
Any logic behind this rich of a mixture? It was richer then I run my turbo car.
