The motor I put in the original pumpkin head was an f4te and made over a 100++++ passes at 1000hp. Fastest pass was a 5.42 @ 128.8 with a s400 off the shelf. The only reason the original motor was pulled was the valve train issue and we had another f4te that was identical that we dropped in and made another 100+++ passes. After Clifton bought the car he pulled the f4te to put a 4bolt 351 in.

I have another f4te in pumpkin head jr. that should make some good power. Going to the dyno soon.

IMO as long as you have it checked you will be fine.

i agree. problem is most people ODNT have them checked and they end up with serioous problems.

The crack isn't a huge problem if it's fixed. There's a million ways to address it, but like Brian said - if it's NOT addressed, it will bypass oil pressure and eventually spin the bearing till it walks out of the bore

Jim is building my 408W with a F4TE block and I'm not concerned about it. I'll most likely keep it N/A and just start saving for a Dart and up the cubes with some boost.
