Air box questions

Ok, when I turn my air on high, it sounds like its weed eating the yard and it spits out dust and dirt etc through the vents. I assume that thing is full of crap since it sat for many moons and its also 30 years old. What is the best spot to tackle this? I dont anything about the air conditioning system in these cars so I dont knoe what I need to take off and vacuum out.

i think there is a filter some where on it but could be wrong.

lol, if you want all that crap out you will probably have to pull it but if it were me i deal with its easy just a pain in the ass.
