U think i have enough power for a glide. Won't it rob more power than a c4?
A glide has zero parasitic HP loss.

If you really wanted to be helpful you could post your opinion of the problem, instead of trolling and making dumbass comments on what you think is funny. But after your comment, im sure i wouldn't really take anything you had to say seriously or into any consideration!

The real question is what does it do when you hit the brake and don't have a llimiter??? What does it do when you let off the button? flash speed?
All I said was ummm. I am sure if you'd have called Mike about the converter he could have cleared it up for you. I know some guys have gone fast with c4's, but your 434ci race motor is probably going to kill the new one in short order as well. I went glide when my 350 gave up, no difference in drive-ability at all.

I had a Art Carr reverse manual valvebody with a transbrake in my C4 that was acting like it sounds like yours is doing. I just went to a reverse manual valvebody with engine braking and its a lot more fun to drive (so far - haven't driven it much yet). PM me if you want details.

That's not true, but its as close as you're going to get with a slush-o-matic.

Really? Do you know how they figure true parasitic loss? Now there will be HP loss from flywheel to output shaft as is the case with any gear box. But compared to other trannys it might as well be 0. What the hell is a slush-o-matic?

Just a piece to take away from all this, manual valve bodies can do just fine on the street. My dad has a MV TH350 that has been street driven (not daily, but for years it was) for almost 30 years now. It has done just fine so don't shy away from a manual valve body in a street car.

Carry on with the bitchin' and complainin'.

That's is very true. I have done several builds that use a MVB TH350 on blown cars because of the boost issues involved on a modulator. There are some MVB that work better and are safer on the the street than others but all of them can be driven with the proper instructions. Now a TH400 is trickier animal, you almost have to get a MVB that has engine braking built into it. I have seen some nasty results from people shifting them into low without coming to a complete stop first.

Not knowing what has been done to the converter or the transmission its hard to give you a reason or cause behind your complaint. It may very well be acting exactly the way it was designed. Just for an example many Manual Valve Bodies are not designed to be driven on the street can you drive them on the street? Yes, but some are deigned to be raced as in run it thru the gears down the track and "neutral" when you lift. If you plan on banging thru the gears on the street you need a constant pressure VB or one that retains "engine braking".

I recommended a glide because it can be built for less mNoney, requires much less maintenance, most of the time your car will be faster, its a very simple tranny as it only has 2 gears fast and faster.
Thats what's in my tranny, correct ?

Btw my trans does the same thing in 3rd that his does now.

stay away from jerricos unless you like 40 year old technology. you need a mid valley, rankin, tex or something of that nature for street use.
