  • First mods for '13 5.0

    I picked up a 2013 5.0 yesterday. It is base with 3.31 rear. First mods will be cold air, magnaflow street catback and a tune. Any of you have results with these mods?

    We install magnaflow catbacks,sct tuners,cold air kits They make a good differance. Just did a magnaflow x-pipe,control arms,panhard bar and body brace on a 2012 today

              How much did you pay OTD for your stang? Does the base have hids and the cluster display screen? Ive read these are standard options on GTs.

                How much are ya paying for a catback, tuner/tune, and intake? Last I priced the three it was well over a $1K. Have prices come down any?

                  OTD 30k on the nose...it has the HIDs etc standars I guess. Has 3.31 gears though. I was looking to get a base with 3.73 but I guess those are pretty hard to come by.

                    Yeah man it was still high. My wife just found out I bought the catback/cold air for 1100...uh oh... I still need the tune.

                      I was not aware of that with the new 5.0 intakes. I can only really speak of my next gen high boost on my 04 cobra. Made a huge difference over the old JLT RAI as far as power goes. I didn't read the whole 24 pages or whatever of that article, but I did read the first page. But I'm sure that Jay will get it straightened out. Thanks for the info though.

                        Man, I'm conflicted now what to do. The manual cars seem to be ok (which mine is) but some seem to think it's not worth the high cost. I don't want ANY driveability issues.

                        I've even rethought about just doing the axleback instead of the catback after so many people complaining about the catbacks on lowered cars.

                        I feel like a newbie all over again with these new cars. lol.

                            Crushing the flowtube pipes that go over the axles and they are really noisy when hitting speed bumps/potholes with the axles smacking the pipes.

                              Um.....never heard of that and I have never heard mine hit.
