  • This Aeromotive pump dying or possibly just a dirty fuel filter?

Noticed the other day at the dale the pump was sounding louder then normal and the pressure was lower then normal. Let the car sit for 10-15 minutes, fired it up and everything was fine for the rest of the night. Fast forward to tonight, took it out trying to see if I could get it hot with the a/c on, about 15 minutes into the drive I saw the fuel pressure was way down, like ~25psi. I tried to limp it home but the afr's got real lean and finally the pressure went down to like 15psi and the car was dying. Let it sit for 5 minutes, went and it fired right up and made the 5 minute drive home no problem (pressure was good).

Only reason I am suspecting the filter is because I had a bulkhead in the cell come loose the other day and I had to pull out the foam, put my hands in there, tools, etc. That combined with the filter being a year and a bunch of tanks of gas old it might just be clogged causing the pump to over heat itself? Either that or the pump is dying? Anyone had an Aeromotive do this. It is the Eliminator pump if that makes a difference.

Hey clean the filter. Then get back to us.

The pump will get louder when failing, but it will as well if its restricted.
