Wal-Mart for around 8 to 10 dollars a can. Most of the big box auto stores have it for 14-16 a can.

We buy 30#'s, last time was a couple months back, got 5 I think at $129 each. Selling to customers for 9.95 per pound down from 14.95 last year.

Be interesting to see how many of you over/undercharge your cars by filling r134a based on gauge readings. Worst I ever saw was last season, car was like 2.5 pounds overcharged.

Best way I've found to do it without weighing the charge (sometimes not an option if exact charge needed is not known) is to get the intake and exhaust temp of the lines going in and out of the evaporator as close as possible. Temp outside needs to ideally be over 80* but if the line temp is at the 33-32* mark you won't have any problems. Gotta love working on old farm and land moving equipment.

Very good point to bring up. I've got customers with anything from semi's, to tractors, to heavy equipment that don't have charge amounts.
