I know this is a shot on the dark but I'm cleaning out my garage from old project stuff and have no clue what to price this stuff at . Most stuff I found online was complete Motors and what not. I have a set of generation 2 aluminum lt1 cylinder heads which for sure need new valves and cleaned up and a lt1 intake and throttle body minus injectors. Any idea of why they typically go for now or a general starting point? Thanks in advance

I've been out of the LT1 game for a while, but back in the day you could get $350-$400. I bought a set of heads for $250, and the intake would sell for $150 with rails and TB. Probably less now though. Camaroz28.com would be a great place to search, they have a Texas section.

Lt1s can and they are wicked fun. A total different feel compared to a 5.0
They are also fun when they are pulling 7-8krpm
I think a better compared engine would be a 347 or 351.
Given that, a 351 can turn 7krpm and make those numbers.
I'm not comparing them to my car, but an ls1 car.

It will take a bit of power in an impala to keep up with a 300hp 2700lbs car.
Either way, I didnt bring my car into this.

Heads/cam LT1's make over 400 rwhp, and that's with ported stock heads, not aftermarket. My completely stock bottom end LT1 ran 7.8 NA and 7.0 with a 175 shot. Not bad for a land barge, and far from a turd. I agree that LS1's have more potential, but LT1's are no slouches.
