  • Window motor on fox

Looks like the window motor inside the door just took a shit on me. I thought maybe it was just the switch motor, I tried jumping it off and no luck. I tried lubbing the motor. Anyone have any motors laying around that they want to sell.

Hold the button in the up position and hit the door panel right above the speaker. Hit it pretty hard.

It could be the plastic gear too, if the motor is still making noise then its probably the plastic gear.

That's good, I have had it happen twice, but it was just the plastic gear.

Me too, you can get the gear for like 5 bucks and it's easy to replace.

The brushes aren't making good contact on the commutator. Next time you have time for a project, take your motors out, disassemble them, and clean them.

Inspect your gear and the rubber isolators while you have the motor apart. These are cheap replacement pieces.

Yep, over the years they lose their resistance. Better to go ahead and replace them though if he's going to go through the trouble of taking them out, IMO.

Yep, the motors on the foxes are pretty damn good, it usually that plastic gear that goes long before the motor gives out. This is why I never roll my windows down all the way too.
