  • Tire shops jacks vs your car.

How many of you have had tire shops mess your car up by jacking it in the incorrect spot?

Ive had them put it under my floor pan ( floor mat area) and bend that all up, it beat out with a hammer so it wasn't a big deal..

But today some tard ass put the jack directly under the fender, right in the lower fended bolt. Of course it bowed out and was looking like shit, I instally began bitching in a calm manner, explaining there is a solid bar under that you can jack from (sub frame connectors). They told me it was already like that and that they had it correct. I pulled out my phone and showed pictures I had taken a week before, they then tried to say it wasn't the same car..

Fast forward to now, they took $50 off my 130$ bill and said sorry.. I got home and spent about 30 minutes fixing what they messed up, and it looks okay. They fubared the lower fender mount/bolt hole though.

Anyone else have to suffer from retardation at a tire shop?

Lol. It will be a little while before I race this thing. It has bald street tires, 3.07 gears, and a stock coverter. It is a little lighter and more powerful than the cobra. I'll race your HCI with my HCI in a couple of months.

Should have gone to a real tire place instead of Juan's Tire Shop. Or stand over them and watch them.

I'm down, you'll have the power on me, but the coupe still weighs less!

I used to take my stangs to Juan's Tire and Tax Serv. all the time and every single time they would jack it from the lower fender bolts. bowed the hell out of my fenders! I learned my lesson and now if I need a quick cheap fix I take them just the wheel and tire. I watch over them to make sure they don't jack up the wheels though.

That's why you don't let people touch your car. I take my wheels and tires to a shop when I need them dismounted, mounted, and/or balanced, that way it alleviates shit from happening like what happened to you. It's usually hard enough for a shop to get my only request correct in that I don't want ANY wheel weights on the outside lip of the wheel, so I'm sure as hell not going to drive the car up there and let them put it on a rack or run a jack under it.
