No one has access to the ability to make it sound that way. Basically it activates the cam phasers opening them all the way thus creating a larger cam. Last I heard anyone caught doing this will be in a law suit by ford. Pretty stupid imo, its your car you should be able to do with it as you please.
Illegal? I didnt know ford was in the business of writing law these days. I also really doubt anyone is getting sued for adjusting the cam timing on a car they own. The worst that will happen is your warranty being revoked.
That being said the ghost cam shit is fucking rice. If anything the variable cam timing system should be used to improve idle quality of a car with more aggressive cams.
Not the car owners getting sued... The tune writers, like John Lund.
Actually, it was a issue between Ford and Lund and SCT. Lund cracked the code using a Boss computer using the "track red key" as a base file and adjusted from there. Ford got wind of it and gave him a cease and desist letter over it. SCT kept using it on their handhelds and all that with Lund still getting the blame for it.
steve heard a car with it on saturday night. It's OK. Don't know if i'd do it or not though.
Yep, I heard it at the meet. It sounds good, but I'm not sure the driveabilty seems all that good with it. I don't think I'm going to do it, in fact I think I'm going to keep this one on the quieter side for a change. I'm enjoying how refined this car is compared to my other cars. I'm going to do a mild axleback to give it a lil more muscle car rumble sound but nothing like that black car sounded like. I'm too old for that shit now.
