Like i said it was bought that way and will be built the right way when i get to it. so where my car comes into this equation i have no clue....
No shit, my car weighs 500lbs+ less and only makes 30 less hp. My car is ugly too. Two different types of cars.

I looked up some vids of the Anderson and it sounds great. But does it perform as good as it sounds. I mean I don't want to over can it so it's a low end dog.

It performs well. I believe it is a 219/229 lsa 112 .512/.512. You wont be over camming the car.

I appreciate it. I just don't want to spend $300 for the sound.

Call Rick Anderson and see what he would recommend for your build. I really like the anderson cams. They perform very well.

I run 1.7s with E cam... I would get another cam =) one that is exhaust biased to help these poor flowing gt40 heads... haha

It would help getting the exhaust ports opened a bit and shaving the heads. You're already starting at 9.0:1 and the over lap is just going to make that worse.

Shaving the head will bump the compression ever so slightly, but it will also bring the valves that much closer to the pistons.

Yeah. I will probably either get another set of heads and work them or go with aluminum eventually. But for now I want to get what I can out of what I've got. Thanks for the info.

True but then you just notch the pistons. They don't even have to be removed if you have a set o junk heads and a valve. Glue sand paper to the valve, connect a drill to it after valve is inserted to the head and BAM, a homemade piston notcher. Isn't it 1cc per point of compression? I read the stock heads can take about .040 cut on them but I'm not positive.

I don't plan on pulling the heads until I have something better to put on it. That's alot of work to do just for fun.
