    I was born into a Mopar family however they didn't offer anything for the class I was running at the time. Mustang was cheap and had tons of cheap parts so I went down the path of the fords. Then got married and the wife has her camaro....and we have our damn Neon lemons car. Along the way, I have had to learn too many details for too many different cars, brands and ugh.... My brain hurts and I am using the power of the interweb to keep my brain from overheating.

    2nd answer to your keeping it alive question is a large oil cooler and oil temps in the 170's.

                Welcome to the world of LS engines. 170 oil temp seems a bit low to me, but I don't know much. Ive had an LS1, LS3, and LS9 that I've tracked. All mostly stock besides bolt-on intake, headers, and exhaust on the LS1 and LS3. Added the extra quart on the LS1/3 and keep topped off on the LS9 and zero issues. If coolant goes above 245 or 250 or the oil goes much above 280, I'll start short shifting a bit to regulate temps. That is after 10-15 minutes of hard running in higher ambient temps. Temps under 85F ambient, I can go an entire HPDE session at full tilt.

                Racing is a different story though and a good radiator and oil cooler is smart insurance.

                    Can't say I've ever seen it being sprayed before the maf. Interesting.

                      How else would you run a dry kit?

                      Not being a smart ass here but you know the difference between a dry kit and a wet kit right?

                      Dry = nitrous only
                      Wet = nitrous and fuel

                        sometime's other peoples ignorance makes me feel ignorant

                        This was just something cheap and easy we did way back in 2000, it worked though, the car went 11.4x@123 on a worn out 245 drag radial.

                        11.4 for 2000 is the equivalent of running 9.8's now, everyone is doing it

                          Nitrous comes out cold/cools the MAF element way down and the ECU fattens up the mixture as it should when the temperature drops.

                            Wow really? Thanks for the explanation... Lol

                            I've a couple dry kits in my time. I've always had it spraying directly into the throttle body.

                              I remember a guy at the street races that had a nozzle in the side of the air box on his truck, the line was ran out by the wipers and the passenger was holding the bottle.

                              when they raced the pass would open the bottle haha

                                This I can see. Given that today's mafs are stupid fucking sensitive, I figured it would give the maf or ecms fits.
