Z303, or go just a little bigger than the 3/4 cam and use a 7/8 cam.

Poked and stroked and blown Flatheads liked Weber F4 and F5's. Also, the Isky 400 Junior and the Clay Smith worked well. I know......I had one. Remember "Mr Horse Power" ? He was Clay Smith's Woodpecker logo. Long time ago.....................

with stock heads even ported e7 heads, you will gain nothing but a nice sound with a cam.

Troof. Might as well do heads and intake while you're in there.

                  I ran 7.30's high with tfs1 gt40x heads and a ported cobra intake with a 100 shot with a t5 and a slipping king cobra clutch. Great.little.combo I felt.

yup, actually the stock cam is a good cam. My old fox with bbk ssi intake, full exhaust, stock cam, 1.7 rockers and 70mm tb and mass air would run 7.9's all day on slicks. That was with a bone stock unknown miles long block!

cracks me up when people say aftermarket cams don't help with stock heads

that all depends on what aftermarket cams. Typically its the cams that nobody bothers to put in there car (mild duration, low lift, wide LSA) since they are upgrading the heads normally and a bigger cam would be necessary over the stock cam or those that are slightly better. I think they are correct by saying that he isn't going to gain much performance if any with the cams stated above over a stock cam with 1.7rr.
