  • What cam to go with

I have a 1990 mustang with gt40 intake bbk throttle body and long tube headers and cold air intake and e7 heads worked over and was wanting to know if I go with the e303 or the b303 should I get rockers and if so what size? And also how much hp would I be looking at ?

Auto or 5 speed? Both cams are decent. I have the e cam and it's ok. I would say 250-275 hp.

neither, go with a set of 1.7 rockers with the stock cam and save your self some money and a broken heart when you dont gain any power from the cam.

Thunde, if you follow this advice let me know. I've got two sets of 1.7 Crane/Cobra rockers.

Stock cam is a bad bitch torque wise. Mike made 300 ft/lb on his "stock" coupe.

^ Old school terminology. I think it referred to the car seeing track duty 3/4 of the time.

that means its missing 4 lobes and 2 journals so that the engine only runs on 6 cylinders.

I guess if there was only 3 cam grinds then 1/2, 3/4, and full would make sense... But there isnt and it tells you nothing about the cam itself. lol guess it just kinda made me laugh when he asked. And yep Im only 23, not up with the 50s terminology

Trust me, it didn't mean that much to us back in the day. If you had a Chevy, you ran a Duntov cam, if you had a Ford you ran a Shelby cam, and Mopars ran Purple Stripes.
