    Blown FRPS question?

    I just replaced my FPRS. Is there anything that my tuner can do to ensure that it doesn't happen again? I remember reading somewhere that a "proper" tune will not blow a FPRS even with the PPRV delete, which I have.

    Car is an 04 cobra with a 2.6L KB making 20#'s. PPRV delete. Not sure if any more info is needed. Let me know. Thanks.

    Man, I've been working on foxes too much... I have no idea what a FPRS OR a PPRV is! LOL! I'm sure someone will chime in...

      LOL, yeah I'm just getting into the mod stuff also. The PPRV is basically a relief valve in the fuel system to relieve pressure spikes (it's a returnLESS style system). And the FPRS, was supposed to be spelled FRPS (my bad) stands for Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor. It has a diaphram in it that ruptures when a large spike occurs. People delete the PPRV because it will cause a hesitation at WOT on high HP cars.

      Also, I posted this in SVTperf... and somebody linked an orifice plate that is supposed to prevent the large spike on the diaphram. Basically soften the blow if you will.

      But I have FORE rails and I saw somewhere that they have that smaller orifice built in. Still waiting to hear back on that.

        When I first got my Cobra and started reading about all that shit I was pissed I got rid of all of it and did a return style.
