  • Need a cast manifold welded up! halp!

Well long story short I just picked up a 2000 jeep Cherokee and it popped the head gasket so as I was taking the intake manifold off a small piece of the corner stayed on the block and i need this ear welded back on.

Its cast aluminum and i know its gotta be tig'd

If anyone knows someone locally in the rockwall area that would be great!

    Thanks in advance

It doesn't have to be tigged, in fact, that's probably the worst option imho.

You're results are a lot more likely to last if it's brazed, followed 2nd by stick welding with stainless..

          doh. Reading comprehension owns me.

Bob, DJ is right. For whatever reason I read "cast iron" not "cast aluminum"

          Disregard my above post.

          That's an easy fix.

Nope. Jeeps are odd. The ends do not have holes but a bolt with a large washer that holds it to the head.
