  • guys who mount their own tires in here

since my daily has some small tires that i'm sure would be not hard to change with the right tools(185/65 r14), i plan on buying my tires online and getting them shipped to my place and changing them on my own. also plan on using airsoft bb's to balance them

my friend and me forced a 17" low profile tire(sidewall was slashed) onto a corba r rim(rim was broken) when we were in high school with just a couple screwdrivers lol. since my current daily tires would be easier, i'm assuming i would just need a couple of handheld tools to get the tire's edge over the lip of the rim?

what and where should i get? would they have something at harbor freight/northern tools? i don't wanna spend too much, was thinking about $20-30. post up what you guys got

    thanks

Ive got one of those cheapo harbor freight manual tire changers, i have R&R hundreds of tires with it, as well as demount for patches and changing valve stems.
Excellent $35 investment, pretty easy to use. Mine is bolted down to the concrete. Also have a homemade cheetah type tank (helps seat bead) as well as well as spoons for mounting 18 wheeler tires. Heres the trick to help things go easier, TIRE SOAP.

          +1, lube is a must.

Good luck. I know I could get the tire on without my tools, but not sure about getting it off. Btw... Discount Tire will match whatever online site u find. Just carry the tires out. That way u don't have to wait for the tires.
