Loud, no. Bearing noise, never experienced it as of yet. Have to replace the input shaft seal if you shred a belt, absolutely.

How is the fit on those BBK 1 3/4 headers? The header selection for a 302 based sbf suck in these cars. 1 3/4 MAC shorties or longtubes is about it. BBK makes the headers you have but only for the 351 swap.

Mine are BBK 351 swap long tubes for a fox. Fit is good, but the collector is a little high on the right side. I had the x pipe customized, so that wasn't a big deal.

At idle it rattled, under throttle it seemed fine. If you google it (at least as of 3-4 years ago) it is generally "normal" but the bearing going out is fairly common and people replace them at home w/press...etc

I sold the car prior to having to do anything about it.

To clarify, it sounded like loose marbles in a metal housing when at idle. Functioned 100% fine, but had me nervous.

With your goals, honestly a TT set up would be better.

liquid intercooled Vortech V2 would work well. Not too expensive either

                1. So the design of the P1 sucks.

                7. My Novi was pretty noisy, but that was "normal."

You should have kept the Novi 2000. Why don't you just go back with that?

My F1-a was extremely loud, my D-1 is just loud. The F1 had a pretty nasty chatter at idle when I was running Crower Stage III Blower cams. It was from the gears in the blower chattering with the choppiness of the cams.

If you're going to go with a Procharger for it I would definitely skip the P1SC and go for a D1. My LS stroker makes over 700 to the tires on pump at 12 psi with a D1.

Well, the deal is I found a kit that already has a P1SC head unit. I know a D1 is better and more well suited, but this kit does not have it. I can trade it in on a D1 later, but would a P1 be ok in the meantime to mess with?

I went to a 408 from a 302 based motor. I thought that would keep me happy for a while. And it did, I'm just looking for a project.

I'm glad you sold the Novi, as I'm still enjoying it on my 95 cobra. Good luck with whatever direction you go. I'll keep an eye out for any 94-95 setups.

Depends on how old the headunit is. We have made over 630 rwhp with a newer design p1. As stated the old design is terrible and will only make 400-450 rwhp. I have an sn95 with a 420 rwhp 347 that I plan to change up soon for a d1 and better short block with the hopes of 650-700.
