bad tps?

The rpm's were surging on the highway yesterday and the CEL came on. Took it to vatozone and the only code was tps. Just wondering if that is the only thing that could be bad. Would iac also be part of the issue?

IACV will throw different code.

IAC almost always causes surging at idle. TPS causes it at all RPM's.

That makes sense. The one time I have changed an IAC, it was surging at idle. This is kind of the same surges, just while driving. I am replacing the TPS tonight. never changed one though,

Should be easy, I am reasonably sure that it's non adjustable. Usually just two bolts.

the part looks non-adjustable. It will probably be harder to get the plastic covering off than the actual TPS.
