A buddy of mine has an old firebird, 60's, his father did a complete restoration with a high performance motor - I don't have the details, but makes around 500RWHP....he now owns the car and the transmission now has problems. Won't go from 2nd to 3rd/4th....goes nuetural when shifted from 2nd into 3rd, so not even sure about 4th. He is looking for a local, reputable shop that can go through it, repair it and beef it up to handle the HP it is making.

1st hand recommendations requested.

Not close or least expensive, but the best I know of for a 700r4 in the area is Phoenix out in Weatherford.

goebel racing trans should come up in a google. John is good people. Mike can fix you up too, but the 700 isnt a real desireable trans. Even the pump sucks in them.

Curious to know what a basic rebuild would cost- got one that was pulled from a 93 silverado that will be going into my sons project truck this summer
